Opus test facilities
It is always prudent to undertake rigorous testing of process equipment.
The selection of suitable process equipment and the assessment of new technologies for development gain added value through the additional assurance provided by thorough equipment evaluation.
Opus facilities and expertise are applied to the evaluation of equipment whereby operators/buyers can test a selection of equipment solutions under controlled conditions to ascertain the best technology to meet their requirements. Equipment manufacturers and developers can test and verify new designs and concepts under a wide range of controlled field conditions.
The Opus Test Facilities allow testing to be conducted and observed under one roof. They incorporate a central test hall (640 m2) with associated base train and a wide range of primary and utility services supported by a fully equipped Oil Laboratory. Primary services include:
- Seawater (20,000 BWPD) either as raw seawater filtered to specification and/or de-aerated on a continuous throughput basis
- Oily water simulated to client specifications (10,000 BWPD)
- Freshwater (5,000 BWPD)
- Thermal fluid heater system (up to 90°C)
- Electrical power (single & three phase)
- Disposal of used liquids
- Inert gas (nitrogen) / Compressed Air
- Oil Laboratories
The main base train facility includes a range of industry standard equipment which can be configured to provide a range of fluid qualities.
